Senior Commercial Manager

As a result, we are looking to recruit an ambitious and proactive Senior Commercial Manager with strong commercial, reporting and analytical skills.  This is a great opportunity for an ambitious person who is looking to develop and grow with the company and become a key member of the finance team.

The Senior Commercial Manager will be part of our London Finance team and will establish best practice across commercial processes as well as review sales and profitability performance, identifying key drivers of the performance. You will work in an international team and propose recommendations to improve standard contribution that are in line with strategic objectives. You will also support the client teams in ensuring that the profitability is maximised across the client accounts. We are looking for a self-starter who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment. This role is an internal facing position that will require a close collaboration with the CEO who engages with clients externally.



  • Report on and manage client project profitability
  • Analyse data to support decisions for all levels of international organisation
  • Monitor key risks and propose actions towards mitigating business and commercial risks.
  • Liaise with project managers on project performance
  • Understand and report on established KPI’s
  • Analyse group financial statements/cost books and report on variances on an ongoing basis
  • Prepare the annual statutory accounts and other statutory returns as necessary
  • Assist with the introduction and ongoing operation of financial controls
  • Support the Financial Controller and Group Director in executing long-term business plan
  • Support any ad hoc internal and external reporting requirements
  • Review financial information to be presented to a client
  • Conduct costbooks/SOWs
  • Review monthly time reports and retainer reconciliations
  • Fulfil group reporting requirements in the client/revenue area
  • Prepare revenue forecasting in conjunction with Senior Client Leads
  • Put together commentary for monthly internal client reporting



  • Prepare and review KPIs whilst working with the Business Leads to ensure that targets are met
  • Participate in resource planning
  • Ensure effective debt collection


Financial support for client management/delivery teams:

  • Ensure billing is correct at all Times
  • Review client quotations to ensure profit margins are met
  • Assist client account & project management teams with the financial project management
  • Provide financial training to client account & project managers
  • Ensure client rates are accurate and up to date
  • Provide support with the ad hoc financial queries

Process compliance

  • Ensure financial and commercial consistency throughout the company
  • Together with the CFO, ensure the compliance with all contractual requirements
  • Ensure all internal financial procedures are adhered to
  • Work with client and operation teams to define financial processes and ensure compliance at all times



  • The ability to take a commercial approach whilst still maintaining strong financial control, coupled with the capability to quickly establish credibility with senior stakeholders is paramount
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and ability to build strong relationships
  • UK Statutory and legal knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Experience in prioritising own workload in order to meet tight deadlines.
  • Great communication skills both verbal and written
  • An inquisitive attitude, keen to learn with a natural commercial nous
  • ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Confident, self-starter with proven track record of improving business performance in a changing environment
