Client Director

The opportunity 

As a Client Director in Cognifide, you are in the thick of things; providing leadership for a group of enterprise clients with a revenue between £3m- £5m per annum.   

You will be part of a closely-knit team that sits at the intersection of our clients, internal Cognifide teams, and our partner ecosystem.  Day to day, you’ll work closely with our colleagues in Consulting, Software Products, Technology Services, and Finance - to create, deliver, and manage exceptional MarTech solutions. You will also be the go-to person within Cognifide for direction about your client, including the digital and marketplace trends that affect them. 

For each client, you will:

  • Identify critical business outcomes and define the engagement model that will achieve them
  • Work with both the client and the internal Cognifide disciplines to oversee programmes and projects in collaboration with Programme and Project Managers
  • Identify and manage key stakeholders 
  • Identify and close new opportunities to increase revenue and service portfolio 
  • Manage budgets, commercials, and contracts  

Within Client Management we are typically measured against 3 criteria: Client Satisfaction, Team Satisfaction and Account Performance (e.g Gross Margin, Revenue Growth). 

Working at Cognifide you will 

  • Provide leadership to your clients – supporting their thinking, spotting opportunities to achieve their objectives - and in doing so identifying opportunities to sell Cognifide services 
  • Collaborate with all internal disciplines who deliver to clients; drawing on the right expertise to solve challenges (including liaising with other partners and suppliers) 
  • Provide delivery oversight across the portfolio of accounts, bringing together globally distributed teams to work together and achieve common goals 
  • Optimise operational efficiency and ensure successful management of project profitability and governance 
  • Commercial Account Management including supporting contractual negotiations and billing 
  • Define a core set of KPIs for engagement on client portfolios in line with company standards 
  • Ensure Account Plans are created, maintained and communicated to the company 
  • Support the Business Development team with the qualification, selling to and ‘on boarding’ of new clients 
  • Work with the Strategy and Products teams on identification of potential new product offerings based on client needs analysis 
  • Assist in recruiting, leading and mentoring Client Management staff  

Experience, skills & qualifications 

  • Experience managing Marketing and Technology clients with a demonstrable ability to form meaningful relationships around delivery, not just sales 
  • Direct accountability for revenue and gross margin performance in a technology-based professional service business for client accounts of ~£3m in annual billing 
  • Proven experience in overseeing technical programmes for large organisations 
  • Successful in managing multi-vendor, multi-stakeholder, multi-national clients 
  • Ability to translate strategic business objectives into actionable programmes of work and communicate to all levels of client organisations (from C-Suite to SME) 
  • Organised, proactive, professional, clear & concise communication style and high cultural awareness 
  • Proven negotiation skills with the ability to communicate complex technology solutions in simple, business friendly terms 
  • Natural leadership capability with the communication and management skills this requires 
  • Strong general account management and client service skills to contribute to the Client Service team overall 
  • This role is UK-based with the candidate expected to travel to client locations internationally as required
